Paul Benson joined Torgenson Law as an associate in March of 2012. Paul grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin where he gained valuable life experience working on a seed farm and for a dairy supply business. Working on the farm every summer for a decade taught Paul the value of honest hard work and he takes that work ethic to the office every day to fight for the Firm’s clients.
Paul earned his bachelors degree from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. There, he was the captain of the varsity basketball team, president of the Young Democrat and Young Republican student groups and served on the executive board of student government.
Paul attended Law School at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. While in law school, Paul dedicated his time to working with entrepreneurs and small business owners in one of the law school’s clinical programs. With a desire to help real people, joining Torgenson Law was an easy decision and a perfect match.
Paul now lives in central Phoenix with his wife Jennah. They enjoy cycling, hiking and cheering for the Arizona State Sun Devils. Paul is an active member of the Young Professionals Division of the Sun Devil Club and donates his time back to the University whenever possible.
Areas of Practice
Paul focuses his practice on injury law. He is passionate about representing the weak and downtrodden. Paul is especially zealous about advocating for the local bicyclist community. He replaced his truck with a single speed bike in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. He is always looking for opportunities to represent those injured while cycling.
In 2004, Paul was a senior in high school. Steve Dean – now a close friend and mentor – was his US Government teacher. Mr. Dean passionately explained that for the majority of human history, the king was the law and people did not enjoy the rights that we now take for granted. He went on to explain that in 1776, We were united by the famous words, “All men are created equal.” A short time later – our founding fathers drafted our Constitution, which gave legal rights to regular people. Unfortunately, the legal system is not perfect or equal. Large corporations and insurance companies often have an advantage over regular, good people. Paul is dedicated to holding the powerful accountable.
