On April 16th, Torgenson Law was invited to take a corporate tour at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Silvia Capir and Tim Harrison of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation escorted John Torgenson, Dan DiLizia, and Valerie Ramirez throughout the hospital. They toured various areas of the hospitals, spoke with staff, and learned about what it takes to maintain the hospital. They also learned about the goals the hospital has in the near future such as a new Emergency Department and a Level 1 Trauma Center. Simply put, the hospital is nothing short of amazing, and it would be difficult to explain all the ways that it impacts our community’s children and their families.

As Arizona personal injury lawyers, we always keep a pulse on significant personal injury, contract, and Constitutional case law. As lawyers, and, more significantly, as human beings, we have all been waiting for the decision that came down today. We love to see when the Supreme Court acknowledges that everyone one has rights, in any area. Individual rights are the foundation of our country, lives, and personal injury law.

As Arizona Personal Injury attorneys, we regularly handle all types of cases including when manufactured products injure, maim, and kill people, including children. This is called products liability law, a complex area of the law here in Arizona.

The United States and Arizona Constitutions guarantee that that NOBODY can take our property without reason. This includes fellow citizens, governmental agencies, and police officers.

As Arizona Personal Injury Lawyers, one of our missions is to keep Arizona citizens and visitors to our state safe. Summers always see an increase in personal injuries. More kids out of school with free time on their hands, more families traveling. Our goal is to keep Arizona personal injuries to a minimum. We do that through education.

I am absolutely sick of people discussing why the terrorist murderer in South Carolina extinguished 9 beautiful lives. He is a racist sick terrorist. A White, racist sick terrorist.

Context is everything. Sheriff Joe is “dispatching” his “posse” across the valley to historically black churches to protect them from violence this weekend. There have been no explicit threats against any of the churches. You have to ask yourself, what is Arpaio’s true motivation? If his sole motivation was to protect the churches, would he have disclosed the details of his plan to the local media? When determining for yourself whether Sheriff Joe’s motivations are honest or political, consider the following list of seven other times that Sheriff Joe advertised that he was “protecting the public.”

Arizona summers are not only harsh for the valley’s four million residents, but also for our four-legged friends. Dog owners, especially those that keep their animals tethered outside, must be mindful about exposing their pets to the heat. Chaining or tethering of a pet is a practice commonly used by pet owners to exercise control of their animals, where the pet is tied-up to a stationary object, like a fence post or flag pole. Most people do not realize that keeping their dogs outside during the summer is a form of animal abuse. Neither local Phoenix ordinances nor the State of Arizona have any laws prohibiting chaining or tethering.

The media has covered allegations of police violence with much fervor as of late. People from all sides of the political spectrum have made police violence into a partisan issue. Fox News has consistently supported the police and attacked victims.

Yesterday, right down the street from our Arizona Personal Injury Law Firm, a woman is fighting for her life after being knocked out of her shoes by a black or dark-colored sedan. This poor woman was walking in the crosswalk at 5th Avenue and McDowell when a coward critically injured her, and then kept on driving.

It rained Thursday night and into Friday morning. Very strange for Phoenix in early June. My Friday morning bike commute to the office inspired me to share a few tips that I’ve learned over the years.

Another senseless death last night here in Phoenix. A 23-year-old-driver hit and killed a woman who was walking in the bike lane with her partner (he was missed by inches) near Norterra and North Valley Parkways in North Phoenix. Man, this stuff makes me so sad and sick.

Insurance companies are actively exploiting your customer loyalty to charge you more money on your car insurance rates. Yep. It is happening. “Price-optimization” is what the term that the pro-insurance-industry-think-tank generated to fool you into thinking it is a good, optimal thing. What it really means is that insurance companies are buying your personal data, combing through your Facebook and Instagram feeds, calculating how they can shake you down for some more cash because of your loyalty. Have you lived in the same house for several years? Sucker. Do you like to buy your coffee from the same local coffee shop every morning, loyally handing over your hard-earned money for a locally brewed fresh cup? Gullible.
