Torgenson Law Proudly Sponsors MAM’s 11th Annual Golf Classic

On Friday, May 16, 2025, our very own John Torgenson, participated in and sponsored the Military Assistance Mission (MAM) Annual Golf Classic held at Grand Canyon University Championship Golf Course in Phoenix. Now in its 11th year, this event brings together community leaders, local businesses, and military supporters to raise funds for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.

Torgenson Law has long been committed to giving back to the community, and this annual tournament has become a tradition that perfectly aligns with the firm’s values. John has proudly supported this tournament for several years, and his ongoing involvement reflects a deep appreciation for the men and women who serve our country and who have served our country.

Military Assistance Mission was founded by Gold Star mother Margy Bons, after the loss of her son, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Michael Marzano who was killed in action in 2005. Wanting to honor his legacy and continue his spirit of service, Margy created MAM in his memory. This mission helps provide both financial assistance and morale support to Arizona military members. MAM steps in when traditional military benefits fall short, offering immediate relief to those in need.

Each year, MAM provides financial support to 120 Arizona-based active duty, Guard, and Reserve military service members. This includes help with rent, utilities, car payments, and other expenses like back-to-school supplies for their kids, and even home remodels for wounded heroes.

In addition to direct assistance, MAM also helps approximately 2,500 military members and families through morale programs designed to provide moments of joy and happiness. These programs include Operation Holiday Open House, Holiday for Heroes, and Baby Bundle Bash. They recognize the personal sacrifices made by military families while also providing a much-needed morale boost.

The Golf Classic began at 7:30 AM with a shotgun start, followed by a full day of friendly competition, contests, raffle prizes, and the reminder that every swing you take helps support Arizona military families and wounded heroes. The proceeds from the event help sustain MAM’s programming throughout the year which will ensure continued support for Arizona military families.
